Did you say you want more money? Sheesh who doesn't ... but lets take a few steps back, ok run back about 20kms, to discover how meditation could somehow be linked to "more money".
So all of you subscribers to the Meditation with Mish Facebook Page probably already know that last weekend I went to a Workshop by Dr Joe Dispenza which was based on his book called "Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself". It was one of those life changing Workshops, and I don't mean like, "oh it was so inspiring, now I understand the meaning of life and how to be a millionaire". I mean, it literally changed me! "Understanding" is only half of the journey to change, you need tools that you can practically apply in your life ... and boy am I practically applying some powerful tools!!
But before I get into any of that, here's a quick intro from Dr Joe who can definitely explain the gist of his work much better that I can;

But before I get into any of that, here's a quick intro from Dr Joe who can definitely explain the gist of his work much better that I can;
So back to how Dr Joe's work literally changed me, well like he said "your personality creates your personal reality" which means all of the thoughts you have, all the emotions you feel and all the actions you take create your environment or your experience of life.
So a little bit of science, and I know this can get kind of boring but I promise we will get back to "the money" in a second, from the time you were a wee little babushka you've been thinking thoughts and these thoughts release chemicals into your body to signal certain bodily functions so that you could survive in the big baaaad world.
So you think a thought "oh no, there's a tiger coming towards me!" and your brain releases chemicals that activate your body's hormones which accelerate your lung and heart functions, increase blood flow to your extremities, dilates your pupils, does lots of other anatomical stuff and you feel fear which makes your body all ready to run away from the tiger. Now all of this is really helpful when you are in the presence of a tiger ...

Now all of this is really helpful when you are in the presence of a tiger ...
Ok maybe not that tiger, but one that is very, very hungry and wants to eat you!!
But what happens when we start to think thoughts like "Truck-ity truck!! I've got so many bills to pay? Where am I going to find this money?" (here we go, she's finally talking about money!) or "I'm never going to get ahead and be able to save for that holiday!!" or "I really want that little house by the sea, but I'm going to have to work really, really, truly hard to earn enough to own that!!" We start feeling fear, anxiety and depression and these thoughts all release similar chemicals which turn on the stress response in our bodies.
But this time, is there any tiger lurking around in your piles of bills? Is there a tiger about to jump out at you as you look at your savings account? Well, there probably is a nasty tiger at work whilst your trying to work so hard for your seaside home ... but you're getting my drift yes?
And not only don't we need the stress response to be turned on when thinking these thoughts, but we don't know how to turn it off! Every time we get a new bill, oooppps there goes the chemicals!! Every time you look at your bank account, ooohhhppp more chemicals!! Every time you go to work ... yep you guessed it, a flood of chemicals. Our body is drenched in chemicals every moment of every day!
And you know the funny thing about chemicals .... mmmm yes-sir-re, they're addictive!! So some people are addicted to the happy chemicals, the happy hormones, and so they experience a lot of happiness and its easy to think happy thoughts and feel happy emotions for these people. And some of us are addicted to the stressful hormones, and its easy to get stressed out and freaked out. And some are addicted to sadness, depression, abandonment, joy, acceptance, love, anger, pain, rejection ...
So as we go along in our lives, we think thoughts and we feel feelings and we become addicted to these chemicals which cause us to, like an addict, keep thinking and feeling and feeling and thinking the same thoughts and emotions and then suddenly out of no where "I'm a stressful person", "I'm a depressed person", "I'm a shy person", "I'm a poor person". Our thoughts have become subconscious and this "personality" we have created for ourselves has us act in ways that reflect how we think and feel and thus create more of the same circumstances in our lives over and over and over. These circumstances in our lives like bills, empty savings and hard work now have us start the cycle again of thinking the same thoughts and feeling the same feelings and we've forgotten this cycle started with a single thought!
You don't see the stressful person acting laid-back do you? The depressed person acting all joyful. You don't see the shy person acting with confidence or the poor person acting with wealth? Are you still with me?? ...

So what if we could interrupt this cycle and start choosing the thoughts we think and the emotions we feel? Do you think our actions would change and consequently change our environment and lives?
So like Dr Joe said in the video above;
"Can you believe in a future that you can't see or experience with your senses yet, but you've thought about it enough times in your mind that your brain is literally changed to look like that event has already happened? And can you emotionally embrace a future reality so much so that it already exists as a potential in the quantum field? And can you emotionally embrace that future reality over and over again so you begin to signal new genes in new ways so that your body has physically changed to look like the event has happened? Because when your brain and body are physically changed ahead of the actual event, then they are no longer a record of the past but now, in fact, a map to the future. And to live by this law is to live by the Quantum Law which says that our environment is an extension of our mind and when we truly change our mind our life changes."
I can hear you say "Oh yeah Mish, but if it were only that simple! I mean I really do get those bills coming in each week that make me feel stressed!! I really can't see myself saving for that holiday and I really do have to work hard to save for my dream home!!"
But then I ask you; so is it your environment (the bills, bank balance and work) that is making you think those thoughts of lack and feel those feelings of stress or did it first start with a thought about the bills, bank balance and work? And could you possibly be addicted to those "lack thought" and "lack feeling" chemicals? And could it be possible that you have been addicted for so long, like since the first time you saw your Mum and Dad stress about bills, their bank balance or work, that it could be an unconscious cycle that you don't even realise you're doing? And if you could change those chronic thoughts and emotions of lack into chronic thoughts and emotions of wealth, wouldn't your environment eventually catch up to your thinking and you would be wealthy just as you are currently poor?
So what does meditation have to do with all of this?? Well, the meditation processes we learnt at Dr Joe's seminars taught me exactly how to do this ... change my thoughts and feelings ahead of the event, and I've already had some awesome things change in my life because of it ...
... but because I promised to keep my blog posts brief, I must finish here as this post has gone waaaaaayyyy over the "babbling crap" limit, but tune in next time for some "Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself" meditation tips!!

Till next week, what thoughts and feelings are you addicted to??
